Last Step

walking down the street dodging people dodging trash the sun in my eyes can’t hear anything but noise but if this was my last step i would take it slowly feeling each part of the ground letting the sun touch my face seeing the eyes of everyone going past if this was my last step i would take it slowly

I Want

I want a bigger apartment, one with a desk. I want straight teeth. I want to get up earlier. I want to text my friends more. I want to not forget my french. I want to get to the gym. I want the sun to set later. I want to never go on hinge again. I want 1,000 matches. I want 1 match. I want 0 matches. I want to be younger.

100 Haikus

This summer I wrote a haiku every day and put it on my personal website. The rules were simple: each poem had to have the classic 5-7-5 structure, and I had to write only one per day. There were no other rules. Haikus have a long and beautiful tradition in Japanese literary history, I decided to ignore it, because the goal was simply to write one a day about my life.
